“Deriving the Right Note” employs testimonies from professors and students, past and present, to highlight the music track of the applied mathematics concentration. Though sparse guidance and course offerings present obstacles for the track’s growth, the feature-length piece nevertheless argues that the track is one representation of a discipline that can meld disparate subjects to form a fulfilling field of study for a more digitized modern environment.
